Food Center
Each August, members of First Church volunteer to assist The Food Center clients obtain food, household products, and personal items.

This past August, our volunteers set a new Food Center record by donating 366 hours of their time. During the month, 941 individuals from 329 households were served by the Center. Sadly, this was also a Food Center record -- the need within our own community is great!
Throughout the year, First members leave canned goods and nonperishable food items, as well as hygiene products, cleaning supplies and paper goodsfor the Center in the Food Center Cabinet located in the Family Life Center Hallway. A volunteer transports donations to the food center weekly.
The Food Center is a nonprofit, non-denominational, cooperative community effort to supplement the food supply of low-income individuals and families living within Johnson County. It also supplies food to area families in emergency situations.
The Center is funded by Johnson County United Way, the Bishop's Emergency Assistance Fund of the Catholic Church, local charitable agencies, memorials and generous gifts from businesses, churches, organizations, and individuals.
Services are provided from the Community Outreach Center at 137 E. Culton St. in Warrensburg. The hours of operation are 2:00p to 4:00p on Tuesdays, 12:00n to 2:00p on Thursdays and 9:00a to 11:00a on Saturdays.
