Our Structure
First UMC appreciates the "method" in Methodist, yet we also create avenues to be open to the leading of the Spirit. Our church governance provides for openness and transparency in how the church works. If you'd like to know more, jump in!
- Church Council. This body oversees the programmatic functions of the church. We set ministry priorities and ensure collaboration between different ministry areas. Meetings are bi-monthly and are always open to visitors. The minutes of this body are posted elsewhere on this site. If you ever want to see our most current financial statement, simply call the church office at 660-747-8158. This information is always available to all.
- Trustees. If you have a question concerning the physical structure of the church or our assets, the Trustees is the group that you would want to contact. For most inquiries concerning building usage, contact our office manager at 660-747-8158.
- Staff/Pastor/Parish Relations Committee. This group is our personnel committee and oversees the staffing needs of our congregation.
