Living that all may know Jesus!

Pastor's Letter

June 21, 2010

Dear First Friends,

Of all the things that I could say in this final space, “thank you” is what comes to mind the most. Five years ago, my family arrived in this community on a hot Wednesday morning.  My introduction to this church was through a flurry of people on that move-in day.  I’ll never forget walking into my closet, to see church members hanging up my clothing. I wandered out to the kitchen, and the Wednesday Crew was cleaning out the water line on my refrigerator. I went out to the deck, to find that lunch from the UMW was arriving.  I still don’t know exactly who installed my washer and dryer, as I never did see them from the front.  That day was an amazing gift of time and generosity from so many wonderful First Church people.

During the past five years, I have been blessed to experience that same spirit through this congregation in so many ways.  You have helped raise my children through their crucial teenage years.  You have given love to all of us. You have laughed with us and cried with us. Most important, you have allowed me to be your pastor and offer leadership during an important time in the life of this church.

You will always remain in my prayers.  I look forward to seeing the great things that God has in store for this congregation through the leadership of Louis and Eric.  Great things are ahead of you.

And for the part of your life that Andy and I were honored to be a part of, I am grateful. You will always have a place in my heart.

With much love in Christ, Sally
