Next Generation Minister Position Added
June 18, 2021
Hello First United Methodist Church Warrensburg,
We have entered into an exciting new chapter of ministry! We conducted listening sessions to discern where God is calling us to focus and invest our ministry efforts for the work of God’s Kingdom. While several themes arose in these listening sessions, our need to revitalize our children’s and youth ministries was by far the most prevalent.
A vision has emerged to create a new staff position. A Next Generation Minister will focus our church’s energy on reaching more children and their families ages birth to 18 years old. The main goal of this position will be to recruit, equip, and lead adult leaders to accomplish this ministry. The position has been approved by PPRC, the Finance Committee and just last night, by the Church Council.
We would like encourage you to attend an information session to gain valuable knowledge and learn various ways to participate in this next chapter of ministry. These informal gatherings will be held in the Church Library (Room 141) on:
Monday, June 28 10 am, 2 pm and 7 pm
Tuesday, June 29 10 am
Wednesday, June 30 10 am, 2 pm and 7 pm
The session should last 45 minutes to an hour and no reservation is necessary. In my absence (new Dad duties!), the sessions will be hosted by Dee Hudson and Robyn Criswell-Bloom.
Thank you for your continued prayers, support, and ministry in what God is accomplishing through our Church family,
Rev. Peter Norton
